Are there less expensive systems?  Yes, but it has been our experience that people who believe they can “get by” with less to save money, only convince their distributors that they are not willing to make the investment for fully functional software … which is, after all, the heart of your company.  If you don't believe in your company, why should they?  Besides, lesser software usually means more manual effort [and more mistakes]. 

Are there more expensive systems?  Yes, much more expensive, especially the "per distributor" systems.  Signing up for a software provider that will end up charging you $10,000's or $100,000's down the road means you will end up working to pay the software company.  Only the Federal Government gets to ignore the cost of doing business ...  for a while, at least. 

Can I charge the distributors for the cost of Internet access?  Maybe, but they will resist that, and charging people to be a distributor in any fashion is a violation of MLM laws.  Besides, you won't develop loyalty by charging your distributors for your start-up costs. The secret to a successful MLM company is to do things that benefit the distributors, then they will take care of you. Nickel and dimeing them to death with mandatory fees, and debit cards they have to buy, puts you at a distinct disadvantage with other MLM companies that don’t do that. However, if you do charge, why give the money to the software vendor? Keep it!!
